Bud Bauer & Dennis Bauer (posthumous)

Forrest (Bud) Bauer was born on September 16th, 1928 in the old hospital on 200 west (now the Leavitt building).  Bud was the third son of four born to Joseph Leroy and Mary Perkins Bauer.  They lived in Cedar until they moved out to the family farm in Cedar Valley.

                When Bud was 15 his father passed away from cancer.  Bud’s family had the farm and some sheep.  Buds oldest brother Clyne was in the army during WWII at the time.  This left Dennis (Buds other older brother) and Bud to take care of most of the work on the farm.  Buds younger brother Joel was only 9 years old at the time.

                Bud has been farming and caring for sheep all his life.  From 1946 to 1958 winters were spent in Nevada with the sheep.  In 1950 the family purchased property on Kolob Mountain where the sheep grazed during the summer.

                In 1992 Bud retired from the business.  He enjoys gardening, spending time on the mountain, and watching football and basketball.

                Bud married Ruby Robinson in March of 1957.  Bud is the father of 2 sons and 2 daughters.  He also has 13 grandchildren and 1 great grand daughter.

                Buds brother and business partner Dennis was born April 4th, 1924.  He married Karen June 2nd, 1979.  Dennis has 2 sons and one daughter.  Dennis passed away on June 4th, 2010.
